This is a 12 month policy which may be rolled on for further periods of 12 months if renewed. If renewed each year this policy may cover long term conditions such as arthritis, skin and heart conditions.

Any renewal of your policy is at our discretion. If we offer a further period of insurance we will be entitled to change the premiums, excess, conditions or to apply exclusions.

We are able to insure any pet over the age of 8 weeks.

A pre-existing condition is any condition that has been identified or investigated by a vet, or that has the same diagnosis, clinical signs or symptoms as a condition known to you, prior to you taking out this insurance. Please refer to the Policy Wording on the Product Information page for the policy you have chosen for the full definition.

None of our policies offer any cover for pre-existing conditions.

Yes, it’s important to keep your pet’s vaccinations up to date according to your vet’s advice. We will not pay a claim resulting from an illness that your pet should have been vaccinated against.

Yes, we are unable to provide cover for the following dogs:

Pit Bull, American Pit Bull Terrier, Dog Argentinos, Japanese Tosa, or a dog crossed with these breeds, wolves or wolf hybrid and any animal registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and The Dangerous Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1991 or any subsequent amendments.

Yes, RSPCA Pet Insurance only offers cover for dogs and cats.
Yes, if you have a pet insured with us we’ll give you a 10% multi-pet discount for each additional cat or dog that you insure.
Yes, for every policy purchased, 15 percent of the price goes directly to helping less fortunate animals.

If you decide your policy does not meet your insurance needs you can cancel within 14 days and receive a full refund providing you have not made a claim.

After this date you may be entitled to a partial refund, depending on how you pay your premiums and whether you’ve made any claims. Please read the 'Cancellation' section on the Help page for more details.

You make a claim by calling 03301 348576
We can deal directly with your vet if you are happy for us to do so. You should double check before your pet is treated that your vet is willing to complete the claim form and send us any supporting information we’ll need to assess your claim.
You should return your claim form and invoices to us promptly. If you do not notify us promptly of a claim this could result in us paying a reduced amount. Please make sure that the claim form is signed by both you and your vet before returning it.
No we do not offer pre-authorisation.
You can pay by direct debit
If your pet is under 7 years old, the excess for vet fees is £100. If your pet is over 7 years old, the excess for vet fees is £100, plus 10% of the remaining costs of treatment per injury or illness. All of our other policies with the exception of our Accident Only policy offer cover for complementary treatments.

Complementary treatments include physiotherapy, acupuncture, homeopathy, osteopathy, hydrotherapy, chiropractic and alternative medicines recommended by or carried out by your vet or an appropriately trained person.

Yes, dental treatment is covered. Depending on the policy you choose the cover may be limited to treatment for an accident only, or to treatment for an accident or illness. Your Policy Wording contains more details on your cover limits.
